"Ring Prep for Obedience” (Monday morning), will focus on acclimating the dog to the show environment, creating and implementing a “plan” for the day of the show, how to develop a comfort level entering the ring, how to use ring training time to maximize both ring comfort and quality of work in one’s dog, with special focus on minimizing stress inside a formal obedience ring.

About Denise:

Denise has been training and titling in schutzhund, obedience, tracking, agility, conformation and herding for over 25 years. She has had multiple HITs in both obedience and schutzhund. Denise finished her Belgian Tervuren Raika’s OTCH in 2011 and her Belgian Tervuren Cisu’s OTCH in 2012. Both dogs earned many HITs and HCs along the way. Denise is the founder and head trainer at Fenzi Dog Sports Academy. She has co-authored two books with Deborah Jones Ph.D., Dog Sports Skills; Book 1 Engagement and Relationship and Dog Sports Skills; Book 2 Motivation.

Denise’s positive training methods are widely recognized for producing dogs with exceptional attention, accuracy and enthusiasm for their work. She uses her extensive knowledge of canine drives to motivate the dog and turn training into a positive experience for an enthusiastic and accurate performance. Rather than teaching you how to train specific exercises, Denise will teach you how to understand the work from your dog’s point of view so that you can become a problem solver for your dog!
