You & Your Dog

Customize your training for your dog's temperament

Working Spot

Are you training the dog in front of you or the dog that you wish you had? Training needs to be adapted for the dog in front of us to bring out the strengths in that dog and downplay the dog's weaknesses. What works best to bring out one dog's strengths can be the exact thing that you shouldn't do with a dog with completely different strengths. In this workshop, we are going to discuss different types of dogs, how to discover who your dog really is, and how to bring out the strengths in your dog. We will go over games that you can play before, during and after your ring performance to keep your dog's head in the performance game. We will go over how to reset your dog based on their strengths and weaknesses after a missed behavior to ensure that the dog understands it was a mistake and to ensure that the dog will want to continue to play the training game with you for years to come. We will work on games and skills that are beneficial for each personality category. We will discuss cautious dogs, secure dogs, environmentally focused dogs, obsessive dogs, high and low drive dogs, handler sensitive dogs, handler hard dogs, dogs who love to learn and dogs who love to perform and much more.

Stop training the dog you had last year and come learn how to train the dog in front of you today!"
